On Tapeopedia, I now have the Netflix-style homepage roughed in. The backend lets me configure rows by genre and adjust their order, which means I can start shaping the site into something that feels organized and browsable. The sideways scrolling works just as it does on Netflix, so the experience is already starting to click.
The big challenge continues to be data. Uploading tapes is a labor of love that requires decent photos and all of the meta information entered into WordPress. It’s a chore, but each upload brings the site closer to life. For now, I don’t have enough data to make the rows really shine, but progress is progress. With a little more effort on the cataloging side, I’ll soon have something ready to share as a proper beta.
